We report with sadness the death on Friday 22nd November of Joan, Lady Innes of Edingight.

Born Joan Hay, Lady Innes was the daughter of Thomas Darling Hay WS, a well known Edinburgh lawyer and scion of the Tweeddale Hays, whose arms are displayed on a ceiling at Delgatie Castle, the Clan Hay Centre in Aberdeenshire.

Her husband, Sir Malcolm Innes of Edingight KCVO, is currently Orkney Herald and served as Lord Lyon King of Arms for 20 years from 1981.  He will be well known to many Hays as a guest speaker at Clan Hay gatherings at the Aboyne Games and other Clan Hay events in and around Edinburgh.

We send our sympathy to Sir Malcolm and to their sons, John, Michael and Colin.  Requiem Mass for Lady Innes will be held on Thursday 5th December at St Andrew's Church, Ravelston, Edinburgh, followed by interment at Marnoch churchyard near the family home in Banffshire.
