Clan Hay's Pipe Major playing at an event in Europe

Two of the regular journals for members of the Clan Hay Society make their appearance this month.

The regular, online newsletter of Clan Hay's continental Europe branch has appeared, with details of the European branch's new youth group, entitled 'Young Hay', the participation of Clan Hay in the annual International Whisky Festival held in Ghent, Belgium, and also sad news in the form of an obituary for our long standing and respected member Chevalier Benito Delannoy.

The newsletter also flags up detail on Clan Hay European Branch's forthcoming events programme, including the Spring barbecue later this month and the Scottish Days festival in August.

The newsletter is circulated by email to all members of the Clan Hay Society in continental Europe.  Contact our branch convenor, Tom Hye, for how to receive it on hyetom@skynet.be

The annual Clan Hay Journal for 2015 has also been recently published, circulated every spring to all members of the Clan Hay Society worldwide, containing a wide range of cultural and social features relating to Hay history and society members' activities in the last year.  Highlights of this year's journal include a report on the spectacular celebration of the 700th anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn last year, in which Hays played a prominent role, news of activities at Delgatie Castle, the Clan Hay Centre, reports from Clan Hay branches across the world, including the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand and, of course, a report on Clan Hay's annual gathering at the Aboyne Highland Games in Aberdeenshire.
